workshop is hosted by the Fort Wayne (Indiana) chapter of the American
Guild of Organists. Wayne will give an overview of the field-tested
Discover the Basics, Discover the Organ and other pedagogical
materials. Topics will include pedagogical philosophy and advice on
teaching and recruitment. Participants will be able to examine the
materials, hear excerpts played, and ask questions. Come and hear real
stories gathered from Wayne’s years of teaching experience and other
teachers’ experiences!

and Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) chapters of the AGO. Wayne will be part
of a panel discussion with several notable organ composers.

This
workshop is co-hosted by Duquesne University and Pittsburgh
(Pennsylvania) chapters of the American Guild of Organists. Come hear
the story behind this highly acclaimed edition of Bach’s organ works
published by WLE in collaboration with Consulting Editor Christoph
Wolff, General Editor George Stanton, Performance Issues Editor Quentin
Faulkner, and In-House and Associate Editor Eleanor McCrickard. 




Wayne
will talk about how the publishing project came into being; the
editorial, review and publishing processes; how WLE approached
publishing such a monumental project; and the unique feature of each
volume as compared with past editions. Questions will be welcome.
Anyone with an interest in Bach or musicology is invited to attend.
